Tuesday, April 16, 2019

The project will benefit from both private and public funding.

The EC approved as compliant with EU State aid rules Polish plans to support the construction of a highly efficient waste-to-energy cogeneration plant in Olsztyn, to the benefit of municipal company, Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej Sp. z o.o. (MPEC). A public-private partnership between MPEC and a private partner selected by the beneficiary through a competitive procedure will oversee the project. The installation will assist in the reduction of municipal waste by incinerating approximately 100.000 tonnes of waste that is currently landfilled.
