INEA awards grants to 20 energy projects under the Low-Carbon Energy call
The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) has selected 20 energy projects, which will be funded through six topics under the Low-Carbon Energy call. Altogether, 82 applications were evaluated in the call. The 20 selected projects are expected to be launched by the end of the year.
Two projects, that would aim to “demonstrate solutions that significantly reduce the cost of renewable power generation” will be awarded a total of €35, 6 million. A total of €35,1 million will be awarded to seven projects aimed at “the development of next-generation biofuels and alternative renewable fuel technologies for road transport”.
The rest of the funding – €69,3 million – will be allocated to 11 projects, which would demonstrate: (i) increased performance of technologies for local heating and cooling solutions; (ii) significant cost reduction for Building Integrated PV (BIPV) solutions; and (iii) highly performant RES technologies for combined heat and power (CHP) generation and their integration in the EU’s energy system.
